Art Nouveau - Art Déco

The auction contains about 750 lots, a special feature being a comprehensive collection of French and Bohemian glass by Emile Gallé, Daum Frères, Lalique and Loetz. From leading centres of Art Nouveau such as Paris, Nancy, Berlin, Vienna and Munich come important examples of artist-designed furniture, including items from the drawing-boards of Ludwig Hohlwein, Richard Riemerschmid, Richard Müller in Dresden, Bruno Paul and Gustav Goerke. Max Läuger is represented by an eye-catching range of ceramics, while the field of sculpture contains rare and attractive works by Max Klinger, Rudolf Marcuse, Gerhard Schliepstein, Henri Levasseur and Georges van der Straeten as well as important chryselephantine figures by Otto Poertzel, Paul Philippe and Demetre Chiparus. The jewellery section includes objects by internationally acclaimed designers as well as a wide collection of costume jewellery. Art Déco silver tea and coffee sets by Tiffany, New York and Ravinet d'Enfert, Paris are sure to attract attention.
