Of special note is a collection of 150 Old Master - 18th c. engravings. Works by Jean-Baptist Carpeaux, Jean-batiste Clesinger, and Isidore Bonheur are just a few of the magnificent bronze sculptures being offered. Two rare and important pieces of Folk Art include a finely carved eagle by John H. Bellamy, and a spectacular example of American Black Folk Art the life-size carved and painted wood ‘Mammy’ figure, ‘Chloe.’ We are privileged to be offering a significant collection of Native American beadwork and artifacts. The American furniture selection ranges from 18th c. chests, tables, chairs, and cupboards, to a Biedermeir Desk and Day Bed. English and Continental furniture include an 18th c. court cupboard, formal dining arm and side chairs, 18th c. mahogany desk, and pair of Russian mahogany arm chairs. Another impressive array of fine room size carpets, including a 19th c. Chinese Peking plus Heriz, Kashan, Tabriz, and Sarouk will be offered. Six fine music boxes by Stella, Mermod Freres, Junod, Mira and Jacot, will be offered along with two fine violins by Wilhelm Duerer and Stainer.
