The Munich Auction-House VON ZEZSCHWITZ Art and Design was founded in September 2001 by Dr. Beate Dry-von Zezschwitz, Carolin Bergner M.A., and Dr. Graham Dry, three internationally renowned experts in the field of 19. and 20. Century Decorative Arts, all with extensive experience in the art and auction business. The particular speciality of the House are the twice-yearly auctions ‘Art Nouveau – Art Déco’ devoted to the Decorative Arts of the early 20th. Century, as well as the twice-yearly auctions ‘Modern Design’ which include handcrafted work of the post-1945 period up to the present day as well as Industrial Design from all periods. A further regular auction, held twice a year, is devoted to ‘Art of the 19. and 20. Centuries’ which includes paintings, sculpture, posters, drawings and prints, as well as illustrated books. A regular wide selection of rare and out of print ‘Reference Books on the Decorative Arts’ is a recent addition to our auction activities. All auctions are accompanied by scholarly, well-designed catalogues illustrated in full colour.
