Description

Detroit Brewing Company (Detroit Michigan) advertising beer serving tray, lithographed metal, made by the Meek & Beach Company (Coshocton Ohio), circa 1901 - 1905, 12" in diameter. SHIPPING: In-House Shipping Available on this lot. Please read the Shipping Section in our Terms and Conditions and the Shipping Policy section before bidding.We have just been given some additional information on this beer tray. The tray was found in an estate located in Mason, Michigan in 1996. It was in an attic, next to the chimney. It was in the home of Clark Cogsdill, who was the direct descendant of one of the owners of the Freer & Cogsdill Saloon that was open for only ONE YEAR in Mason, Michigan in 1901. It was then forced to close down. The individual who bought the estate had it is his basement from 1996 to 2024 when he decided to consign this item for this auction. So, we now know exactly where this tray came from and when. This puts the date of this tray right at 1901, which aligns with our earlier research.

Condition

Some minor surface scratches and craving, corrosion on backside.
